As you might have understood, our methodology is strongly influenced by our obsession for Business processes and Business Intelligence.
* Business Processes: We believe that reviewing a company's processes is all about making them more 'lean & mean' (yes, another buzz word), reducing their bottlenecks and making them easier for personnel to apply.
Changes in procedures are considered cheaper than system automation changes. But the downside to this is, is that they should be well communicated, continuously repeated and applied under disciplined middle management. Unfortunately often, the cost of ommitting this discipline of strong communication and management, often outweighs the investment of 'system automation', which does allow control and procedures to be well anchored and assured.
* Business Intelligence: In parallel to this, we must not lose sight of the most important deliverable of all : Increased value for the company. As we know, any company's strategy aims at higher shareholder's value. But how can we ensure that the above business processes comply to this strategy? Business intelligence and Performance management are making this bridge. Setting the right targets for each of the business areas drives people to work on the Strategy roadmap. Providing clear and intuitive management reports and dashboards to measure these targets is currently a challenge many companies are facing. High complexity of underlying systems, geographical and physical distances between collegues make it very difficult to come to one definition and even more to follow the fast paced business of 21st century. A new department needs to be born(e) : the BI organisation, where business and IT meet, where strategy and operations finally meet.
